How do I convert TIFF to PNG without losing image quality?

Upload your TIFF file and the converter applies format-aware quality optimization for PNG. For lossless PNG (PNG, TIFF, BMP) every pixel is preserved; for lossy PNG (JPG, WebP) you can tune the quality factor before download. TIFF is a container more than a codec: it can hold uncompressed, LZW, ZIP or even JPEG data, at up to 32 bits per channel, with multiple pages in one file. PNG uses DEFLATE compression over filtered scanlines, so every pixel survives exactly, plus a full 8-bit alpha channel.
What happens to the layers in my TIFF file?

They are flattened, permanently, into one composited image. Blend modes, masks, adjustment layers and editable text are all resolved into final pixels because PNG has no structure to hold them. Keep the TIFF as the working master and treat the PNG strictly as an export. TIFF handles CMYK, 16-bit depth, embedded ICC profiles and multi-page documents, which is exactly what print and archival workflows require. PNG is a poor photograph format: a photo saved as PNG is routinely five to ten times larger than the same image as JPG or WebP.
Will my CMYK colour survive the conversion to PNG?

It is converted to sRGB, because PNG has no CMYK mode. For screen use that is exactly what you want. For commercial print it is not — the gamut shift changes how saturated colours reproduce on press, so send the printer the original TIFF rather than the PNG.
Does TIFF to PNG conversion preserve transparency?

Transparency survives when PNG is PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, or SVG. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel against a white background. If you need transparency in the result, target a transparency-aware PNG instead of PNG=JPG. PNG was designed in 1996 as a patent-free replacement for GIF, and became the web’s default lossless image format.
What about EXIF metadata when converting TIFF to PNG?

In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the PNG. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.
Can I batch-convert many TIFF files to PNG at once?

What resolution will my PNG file have?

Default is 1:1 — your PNG keeps the pixel dimensions of the source TIFF. If you need to resize as part of the conversion, use /resize-image/ after conversion, or chain it with the /image-resize/ utility.
Are my TIFF files private during conversion?
