How do I convert TIFF to PSD without losing image quality?

Upload your TIFF file and the converter applies format-aware quality optimization for PSD. For lossless PSD (PNG, TIFF, BMP) every pixel is preserved; for lossy PSD (JPG, WebP) you can tune the quality factor before download. TIFF is a container more than a codec: it can hold uncompressed, LZW, ZIP or even JPEG data, at up to 32 bits per channel, with multiple pages in one file. A PSD preserves layers, masks, blend modes, smart objects, adjustment layers and editable text as separate live elements.

Does TIFF to PSD conversion preserve transparency?

Transparency survives when PSD is PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, or SVG. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel against a white background. If you need transparency in the result, target a transparency-aware PSD instead of PSD=JPG. PSD is Adobe Photoshop’s native document, and it is a working file rather than a delivery format.

What about EXIF metadata when converting TIFF to PSD?

In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the PSD. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.

Can I batch-convert many TIFF files to PSD at once?

What resolution will my PSD file have?

Default is 1:1 — your PSD keeps the pixel dimensions of the source TIFF. If you need to resize as part of the conversion, use /resize-image/ after conversion, or chain it with the /image-resize/ utility.

Are my TIFF files private during conversion?

Yes. Uploaded TIFF files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted PSD are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.

Why is my converted PSD bigger or smaller than I expected?

A TIFF with strong existing compression (lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded to lossless PSD (PNG, TIFF). A lossless TIFF often shrinks dramatically when going to JPG / WebP. The ratio depends on image content — photos compress differently from line art. TIFF’s flexibility is its weakness — two TIFFs can be structured so differently that software reading one fails on the other — and files are large. PSD is huge, opens properly in almost nothing outside Adobe, and has to be flattened before anyone can view or print it.

Can I use the converted PSD commercially?

Yes. The conversion is a format change — copyright on the image content stays with you (or whoever held it on the source TIFF). We add no watermark, no metadata stamp, and claim no licence over the PSD output.
