How do I convert SVG to GIF without losing image quality?

Upload your SVG file and the converter applies format-aware quality optimization for GIF. For lossless GIF (PNG, TIFF, BMP) every pixel is preserved; for lossy GIF (JPG, WebP) you can tune the quality factor before download. An SVG stores shapes as mathematical paths and text as text, not as pixels, so it is a document rather than a raster grid. GIF is lossless but capped at a 256-colour palette per frame, using LZW compression and single-colour binary transparency.
How does text inside the SVG behave?

In an SVG, text is real text — selectable, searchable and re-styleable, and it needs the font to be available or embedded to render as intended. Converting away from SVG turns that text into pixels or into document text depending on the target; converting towards SVG only produces real text if the source had a text layer to begin with.
Does SVG to GIF conversion preserve transparency?

Transparency survives when GIF is PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, or SVG. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel against a white background. If you need transparency in the result, target a transparency-aware GIF instead of GIF=JPG. GIF is CompuServe’s 1987 format, and the only reason it survived is that it animates.
What about EXIF metadata when converting SVG to GIF?

In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the GIF. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.
Can I batch-convert many SVG files to GIF at once?

What resolution will my GIF file have?

Default is 1:1 — your GIF keeps the pixel dimensions of the source SVG. If you need to resize as part of the conversion, use /resize-image/ after conversion, or chain it with the /image-resize/ utility.
Are my SVG files private during conversion?

Yes. Uploaded SVG files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted GIF are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
Why is my converted GIF bigger or smaller than I expected?

An SVG with strong existing compression (lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded to lossless GIF (PNG, TIFF). A lossless SVG often shrinks dramatically when going to JPG / WebP. The ratio depends on image content — photos compress differently from line art. SVG cannot represent a photograph — tracing one produces either a crude approximation or a file larger than the original raster. GIF’s 256-colour ceiling wrecks gradients and video stills, and its file sizes for animation are an order of magnitude worse than WebP or MP4.
