How do I convert SVG to WebP without losing image quality?

For lossless WebP (PNG, TIFF, BMP) every pixel is preserved; for lossy WebP (JPG, WebP) you can tune the quality factor before download. An SVG stores shapes as mathematical paths and text as text, not as pixels, so it is a document rather than a raster grid. WebP offers both lossy and lossless modes, with alpha transparency and animation available in either.
How much quality will I lose going from SVG to WebP?

At quality 80-85 the difference is invisible at normal viewing distance and the file typically drops by 60-80%. The catch is that it is one-way: re-saving the WebP repeatedly compounds the artefacts each time. Keep the SVG as the master and regenerate the WebP from it whenever you need a new size. SVG renders perfectly at any size, stays editable, is searchable and diffable as plain text, and is usually a fraction of the size of an equivalent PNG.
How does text inside the SVG behave?

In an SVG, text is real text — selectable, searchable and re-styleable, and it needs the font to be available or embedded to render as intended. Converting away from SVG turns that text into pixels or into document text depending on the target; converting towards SVG only produces real text if the source had a text layer to begin with.
Does SVG to WebP conversion preserve transparency?

Transparency survives when WebP is PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, or SVG. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel against a white background. If you need transparency in the result, target a transparency-aware WebP instead of WebP=JPG. WebP is Google’s 2010 image format, built from the VP8 keyframe encoder and intended to replace JPG, PNG and GIF at once.
What about EXIF metadata when converting SVG to WebP?

In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the WebP. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.
Can I batch-convert many SVG files to WebP at once?

What resolution will my WebP file have?

Default is 1:1 — your WebP keeps the pixel dimensions of the source SVG. If you need to resize as part of the conversion, use /resize-image/ after conversion, or chain it with the /image-resize/ utility.
Are my SVG files private during conversion?
