PSD to TIFF Transformation FAQ

How do I convert PSD to TIFF without losing image quality?
+
Upload your PSD file and the converter applies format-aware quality optimization for TIFF. For lossless TIFF (PNG, TIFF, BMP) every pixel is preserved; for lossy TIFF (JPG, WebP) you can tune the quality factor before download. A PSD preserves layers, masks, blend modes, smart objects, adjustment layers and editable text as separate live elements. TIFF is a container more than a codec: it can hold uncompressed, LZW, ZIP or even JPEG data, at up to 32 bits per channel, with multiple pages in one file.
Transparency survives when TIFF is PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, or SVG. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel against a white background. If you need transparency in the result, target a transparency-aware TIFF instead of TIFF=JPG. TIFF is the Tagged Image File Format from 1986, and it is the format scanning, publishing and archiving industries standardised on.
In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the TIFF. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.
Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.
Default is 1:1 — your TIFF keeps the pixel dimensions of the source PSD. If you need to resize as part of the conversion, use /resize-image/ after conversion, or chain it with the /image-resize/ utility.
Yes. Uploaded PSD files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted TIFF are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
A PSD with strong existing compression (lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded to lossless TIFF (PNG, TIFF). A lossless PSD often shrinks dramatically when going to JPG / WebP. The ratio depends on image content — photos compress differently from line art. PSD is huge, opens properly in almost nothing outside Adobe, and has to be flattened before anyone can view or print it. TIFF’s flexibility is its weakness — two TIFFs can be structured so differently that software reading one fails on the other — and files are large.
Yes. The conversion is a format change — copyright on the image content stays with you (or whoever held it on the source PSD). We add no watermark, no metadata stamp, and claim no licence over the TIFF output.

PSD

PSD (Photoshop Document) is the native file format for Adobe Photoshop. PSD files store layered images, allowing for non-destructive editing and protecting design elements. They are crucial for cinema-grade graphic design and photo manipulation.

TIFF

TIFF files accommodate high bit depths and lossless compression, ideal for cinema-grade photography and printing.
