How do I convert PNG to JPG without losing image quality?

Upload your PNG file and the converter applies format-aware quality optimization for JPG. For lossless JPG (PNG, TIFF, BMP) every pixel is preserved; for lossy JPG (JPG, WebP) you can tune the quality factor before download. PNG uses DEFLATE compression over filtered scanlines, so every pixel survives exactly, plus a full 8-bit alpha channel. JPG is lossy: the image is transformed with a DCT, quantised, and entropy-coded, with a quality knob controlling how much is discarded.
How much quality will I lose going from PNG to JPG?

At quality 80-85 the difference is invisible at normal viewing distance and the file typically drops by 60-80%. The catch is that it is one-way: re-saving the JPG repeatedly compounds the artefacts each time. Keep the PNG as the master and regenerate the JPG from it whenever you need a new size. PNG is the right choice for screenshots, logos, line art and anything with hard edges or transparency — no ringing, no colour banding.
Does PNG to JPG conversion preserve transparency?

Transparency survives when JPG is PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF, or SVG. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel against a white background. If you need transparency in the result, target a transparency-aware JPG instead of JPG=JPG. JPG is the JPEG standard from 1992, served under the .jpg, .jpeg and .jfif extensions alike, and after three decades it is still the format most cameras and most websites use for photographs.
What about EXIF metadata when converting PNG to JPG?

In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the JPG. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.
Can I batch-convert many PNG files to JPG at once?

What resolution will my JPG file have?

Default is 1:1 — your JPG keeps the pixel dimensions of the source PNG. If you need to resize as part of the conversion, use /resize-image/ after conversion, or chain it with the /image-resize/ utility.
Are my PNG files private during conversion?

Yes. Uploaded PNG files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted JPG are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
Why is my converted JPG bigger or smaller than I expected?

A PNG with strong existing compression (lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded to lossless JPG (PNG, TIFF). A lossless PNG often shrinks dramatically when going to JPG / WebP. The ratio depends on image content — photos compress differently from line art. PNG is a poor photograph format: a photo saved as PNG is routinely five to ten times larger than the same image as JPG or WebP. JPG has no transparency, degrades further every time it is re-saved, and produces visible blocking on flat colour and sharp text.
