The same resolution as the DivX video — a 1080p DivX produces 1920×1080 Image frames; a 4K DivX produces 3840×2160 Image frames. Use the resize utility after extraction if you want smaller thumbnails or social-media-sized crops.

Yes, with All Frames in the Frame Extraction option, but watch the count: one minute of 30 fps video gives 1,800 Image images. For a single still, choose Single Frame and enter the second you want instead.

HDR footage is not tone-mapped: each frame is converted from the DivX as it is decoded, so a frame from an HDR DivX can look flat or washed out as an Image. Standard (SDR) video keeps its colours.

Depends on resolution and Image codec. A 1080p PNG frame is typically 2 to 5 MB; a 1080p JPG at quality-85 is 200 to 500 KB; a 4K PNG is 6 to 15 MB. At the extreme, every-frame PNG extraction of a 10-minute 1080p DivX produces ~50 GB total.

It depends on the size and length of the file. Small documents and images are usually ready quickly. Long videos take the longest, because most video conversions re-encode every frame.

One at a time. Single Frame takes one time in seconds (for example 83 for 1:23) and saves that frame as an Image. There is no field for a list of times, so run the conversion again for each extra timestamp.

Yes. Uploaded DivX files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted Image are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.

Almost always motion blur baked into the DivX source — the camera or subject was moving when the frame was captured. Pick timestamps from static scenes, or extract adjacent frames and choose the sharpest. The pipeline does not synthesize detail that was not there.
