Will the text still reflow to my screen after converting ODT to PDF?

No — this conversion pins the layout. An ODT adapts its line breaks to whatever width and font size the reader is using; the PDF fixes page geometry at conversion time, so on a phone you get the whole page scaled down rather than text rewrapped to the screen. That is the right trade when the layout must not move, and the wrong one when the file is for reading on a small device. ODT is the mandated format in several national and EU public administrations and carries no vendor lock-in.

Can I still edit the content after converting ODT to PDF?

Not the way you edit the ODT. The PDF is a delivery format: it fixes the layout so it renders identically everywhere, which is exactly why it resists editing. Keep the ODT as the working copy and regenerate the PDF whenever the content changes — round-tripping back out of PDF always loses something.

How faithful is the round-trip between OpenDocument and Microsoft formats?

Body text, headings, lists and simple tables move across cleanly in both directions. The known casualties are the same ones LibreOffice has always had: tracked changes, comments anchored to ranges, footnote numbering schemes and nested table borders. Check those specifically rather than assuming the whole document made it.

Will the PDF open directly in a browser?

Yes, and the ODT would not have. Browsers ship a decoder for PDF and none for ODT, so an ODT link forces a download while a PDF renders inline. That is usually the deciding factor when the file is going onto a web page rather than into an application. A PDF looks byte-for-byte identical on every machine and every printer, which is why contracts, invoices and academic papers all live in it.

Will the ODT to PDF conversion keep my fonts and formatting?

Yes for text-bearing ODT (DOCX, ODT, HTML, TXT) — fonts are embedded into the PDF so the output looks identical on every viewer. Image-only ODT (JPG, PNG) is centered on the page; text-layout is N/A there.

Can I merge multiple ODT files into one PDF?

What page size and orientation will the PDF use?

Will hyperlinks in my ODT survive the PDF conversion?

Yes for ODT formats that carry real hyperlink metadata (DOCX, ODT, HTML, EPUB). Image ODT (JPG, PNG, TIFF) has no link metadata to preserve. The PDF uses standard PDF anchor syntax so links work in every modern PDF reader.

Is the resulting PDF searchable with real selectable text?

Yes when the ODT contains real text (DOCX, ODT, HTML, TXT, EPUB). Image-based ODT produces an image-only PDF; run /pdf-ocr/ afterward to make it text-searchable via optical character recognition. An ODT is a ZIP of XML files, structurally similar to DOCX but with an open specification designed by committee rather than by a vendor.

Can I password-protect the PDF after conversion?

Not in this tool directly — convert ODT to PDF first, then use the /pdf-* tools to add a password, watermark, or restrict editing / printing permissions on the output.

How big will the PDF file be?

Depends on the ODT content. A 10-page DOCX with embedded fonts produces a 200-400 KB PDF. A 10-image JPG batch at full resolution produces a 5-20 MB PDF. The advanced "compress images in PDF" toggle recompresses embedded images at JPG quality-85.
